Snow Load Info

How to calculate your own snow load

As of February 25, 2008 at 9:15 A.M. the snow load at Peninsula Fire Station #2, 801 Golf Club Road is 44 pounds per square foot.  We will periodically be checking the Fire Stations snow loads and reporting back on our findings.  We will not be going out and checking individual residences or businesses for their snow load.  You can check out Peninsula Fire District’s web site at www.peninsulafire.net to see how to check your own snow load.

According to Plumas County Building Department building constructed prior to 1980 had a required snow load of 80 pounds per square foot and buildings constructed after 1980 has a required snow load of 100 pounds per square foot.
