Message from the Fire Chief Re: CoronaVirus

March 16, 2020

We have all heard about the negative effects of Coronavirus (COVID-19). And we all have heard about the need to social distance and to minimize exposure for those of us that have preexisting medical conditions. In order to assist with reduction of spread we would like to notify you of the following guidelines for Peninsula Fire District.

·       In an effort to protect our employees and potentially limit the spread of any contagion, please conduct any business you have with Peninsula Fire District by phone or email. Most business can easily be conducted in this way.  Phone (530) 259-2306; email penfire@frontiernet.net

·       If you have a medical or fire emergency, please call 911 as normal. If you have or suspect you have Coronavirus, flu like symptoms, sore throat, cough or fever, please inform the dispatcher of all your symptoms. This way they can alert us so we can take extra precautions.

·       If you are looking for a burn permit please visit https://burnpermit.fire.ca.gov/

For additional information about COVID-19, get the latest report from the Centers for Disease Control at CDC.gov or Plumas County Public Health Agency website:  https://www.plumascounty.us/91/Public-Health-Agency
